In this video I want to talk to you today about why a Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt can be worth more than a million dollars.
A Jiu-Jitsul Black Belt Is Priceless
And, the reason why I say that, I know it sounds kind of crazy, but the reason why I say that is because, history has shown you, go ask anybody who’s gotten a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, go ask anybody who’s gotten a Black Belt in any kind of martial art, and if you ask them “hey, would you right now, knowing what you now know, would you sell off all those skills for a million dollars for you? You could receive a million dollars and then have all your Jiu-Jitsu skills wiped away, would you take that deal at all?” And every one, every single person I’ve ever asked this to, have said “no”.
And I’m the same way; I would not sell off my Black Belt skills for a million dollars either. The reason why is because they’re worth more than that to me. I mean it’s not like I go out and get in a fight every day. I’m an adult and I don’t do those kinds of things. I discourage all forms of violence but that’s not the point. That’s not the point. The point is that I get value from my Black Belt martial arts skills every single day – whether it’s just feeling good about myself, feeling more confident etc.
It’s not just about fighting. It’s the confidence. It’s the habit that I learned to set goals and achieve them.
When I was young I was bullied as a kid. I was picked on and that’s how I got into martial arts. This guy was picked on me at school. I went home and told my dad who was a police officer and he taught me boxing. So that was the first martial art that I learned as a little kid. Boxing hit my dad’s hand in the living room and you know it took care of my bullying problem at school and then I fell in love with martial arts. And I just kept doing and kept doing it. So, over a lifetime of doing this now, I can tell you that martial arts expertise is worth way more than a million dollars.
You benefit from it all the time. It’s not just about fighting. It’s the confidence. It’s the habit that I learned to set goals and achieve them. They’ve helped me in my professional life, my business life, my personal life, my academic life, or anything I want to do, I know I can set a goal and I have the dedication to go out and achieve that goal. Because I learned that skill through martial arts, so how much is that worth? How much is it worth to have that ability to set goals and achieve them? It’s priceless. I mean how can you even put a value on that? And that’s just one aspect.
Confidence is All That Matters
The confidence that I get when I go out to WalMart, which can be a shady place sometimes, I walk in a WalMart and there are some shady looking people in there. I feel okay. I mean I feel confident in my own abilities. I feel like I can take care of myself. I feel like I can take care of my family. So how much is that worth? How can you even put a price on that? And so, it’s all that stuff – the dedication, the perseverance, the confidence – these stuffs are just priceless.
Black Belt Training Offers Long Term Value
So, I want you to think about this for a minute and if you know anybody who has gotten a Black Belt in any kind of martial art, ask him “Would you sell all that off for a million dollars?” and I guarantee the answer is going to be a “No”. I’ve never run across anybody that said they would. That’s what martial arts expertise is worth. And if you want that for yourself, if you want that for your child, then I want you to think about our Black Belt training and leadership program here at Bam Bam Martial Arts because that’s exactly what that program is for. It’s exactly designed to take your child or yourself, whoever, and to get them through that process, to teach them all those skills. It’s not fast. It doesn’t happen overnight. We’re talking about building habits. But these are habits that produce value that will last a lifetime.
