Awesome place to train. All of the instructors know my name and are very supportive. Very great price as well for the services and options you have. I wish there were more morning class options to fit with my work schedule. All around great place!

This gym has changed my life. The coaches here are amazing. Angelus is always making sure we learn how to submit someone and get out of that submission. All the coaches here are great and help you build your confidence. My son loves this place and got me into it. Best place to feel like family and get amazing training.

I have been going to Bam Bam for a while now, and I can't explain how much of a great experience it is to train there. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced fight, its got it all. Coach Angelus is a great teacher. He know how to get the most out of you while still maintaining a fun environment. You'll be pushed to your limits in the best way. It's really the best workout that I have ever had, nothing comes close.

I have been going to Bam Bam on and off for five years. I am very busy with a career and family; this is by far the best way to blow off steam and get into incredible shape. My daughter is too young to attend, however, I know Scott, Angelus and the rest of the staff at Bam Bam are doing wonderful things with the kid's program. If you are looking for a good workout...look no further! Bam Bam staff does a great job mixing things up to keep the classes challenging and fun. These classes focus on technique, fitness, and discipline. If you have a bad experience at this place, it's probably due to a bad attitude and an unwillingness to work with a team. Scott and his staff work extremely hard to create a fun and friendly environment. Bam Bam is more than a school; it is an extended family. Everyone is welcoming and looks for opportunities to help each other become a better version of themselves.

I went to Bam Bam to get back into shape after having back surgery. I had been out of the gym a while and was restricted from weights. I found Bam Bam from a friend who had been attending for a while. I decided to check them out. I was blow away on how welcoming and nice everyone is. They have both new guys like me and a few veteran guys that can really pack a punch. Watching the seasoned guys game me motivation to achieve my fitness goals. I go at least 1-2 times a week and get great pleasure from the results. Cardio is improved and cutting fat while limiting the high impact from weight training. WAY BETTER RESULTS. Scott and his team do an incredible job

Owner, staff and team members are all very welcoming. The instruction has a great balance of a exercise and technique. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get started in martial arts.

Attended a women's martial arts class at this facility. I now want to enroll myself and my child in weekly classes. This is a must learn for all women. Incredible staff! Love love love this place.

I have been extremely pleased with the impact that the Bam Bam Martial Arts program has had on my son (6 yo). Coach Scott is able to provide instruction in simple, straight-forward learning that is easy to apply and retain for kids that want to learn and have fun at the same time. After ~5 months of 2x per week (frequency is the key for retention), he has developed a strong sense of confidence and increased physical awareness. Mentally, he is now more focused during times of instruction which translates to the classroom as well as home life activities. Most importantly, he is motivated by giving respect to others and commanding respect for himself as this represents one of the core teachings offered by the Bam Bam program. I highly recommend Bam Bam and Coach Scott based on the results we have seen in our son and for the clear passion shown while teaching Martial Arts and valuable life lessons to kids of all ages, boys and girls alike.

If you are looking for a Martial arts gym to feel like home, grow and learn at, I can't recommend BamBam enough. This gym has well qualified instructors who have high expectations but interact in a very positive way with the students. He-Man (yes, that is his real name...who doesn't want to learn martial arts from a guy named He-Man?!?) Franco and Justin are awesome. In addition to training, they talk to the kids about developing qualities like respect, courage, and optimism both in the gym and in life. This has been really great for my daughter. She loves coming to class here. The atmosphere is very welcoming and family oriented. They have a class in the evening where families can train together! Lastly I love you pay one fee per month and can go to as many classes as you want. This gives us awesome scheduling flexibility I've never had with my daughters other activities. If we can't make class on Monday for example, we just go to Tues and Wens instead. Such a great culture doesn't happen by accident. The owner is intentional and that's created a great place. Try it out!

I've been in martial arts gyms for the last decade, and Bam Bam Martial Arts Academy is by far one of the best facilities I've been to! Kind, professional, and knowledge staff make all the difference! The coaching staff (Scott, HeMan, Justin, and Franco) have all fought professionally themselves, so you are getting REAL techniques in class, yet they are all humble and helpful which equates to a wonderful experience for all of the students. Their kids program is one of a kind, teaching self-defense that actually works, plus they focus on character development. Kids love the program, have fun in class, and will walk away with knowledge that will stay with them for life! & the coaches really care about the impact they have on the kids, which is a plus!!!The program for adults is also amazing, great workout for any ability! If you are looking for exercise or self-defense, or just fun way to let go of the stress from your busy day, this is the place to be!!!

Great coaches, awesome team mates. You will be constantly encouraged to push your limits and when you do, you will find the whole class cheering and sharing your joy. Discipline, friendship, health, learning, respect and honor are the words I would use to describe Bam Bam. Coaches Scott, Himan, Franco and Justin are high class Martial Arts professionals.

Bam Bam Martial Arts Academy is by far my son's favorite place to be, and as a mom I couldn't be happier! The coaching staff is amazing! Coach HeMan, coach Justin, and coach Franco are all wonderful with the instruction they provide the kids and have a way about them that commands attention and focus, yet remain kind and humble in their approach! One of my favorite parts about the kids program is the character development portion. Each month they focus on a word such as respect or courage and before and after each class carefully explain what it means and how to apply it not only in class, but in life. The merit system is also wonderful in encouraging kids to respect their parents, do their chores, and get good grades - with each of these "good deeds" reported to the staff the kids can earn a merit stripe which is awarded to them in front of the class and they walk away proud of the accomplishment! The atmosphere of this gym is one that is hard to find (real technique being taught, combined with discipline that only love for children could deliver) and appreciated by this mother! I highly recommend this program to anyone with kids, boys and girls, of any size and ability! Unlimited classes within the program are just the icing on the cake!!!

I absolutely love this place! It is a great environment for both children and adults. Not only they teach self defense, but they instill great values to the kids. My daughter is timid, but since she has started taking classes at BamBam, her confidence has gotten much better. The coaches are friendly and very approachable. They are always willing to help. One of the major goal of the this school is to teach the children right from wrong. They teach children how to react in certain situations and to always keep violence out. The kids are taught when it is appropriate to use the skills they learn in class. As for the adult classes, coach Franco is a great motivator. He pushes you pass your limit to get the ultimate workout. He is a very good instructor and ensures that everything he teaches is done safely and correctly. I strongly recommend this martial arts school to every one.

This is definitely cornerstone location technically proficient family oriented as well aa a overall great friendly environment. I recommend everyone stop by and attend a few classes once you do that you'll be a part of the family because you won't want to leave.....that I guarantee.

Here's the straight talk folks... YOU need and instructor you can TRUST to teach you what you seek to learn ...and much that you don't even know you need to learn. There just are NOT many human beings who can be a great fighter OR a great teacher OR a great business person. The combination of all those things really is a rarity. Unfortunately, the most frequent trends are these: ...good fighters but could not teach anyone else their skill or care for their students... good teachers of technique but who had never really be through the hell of a tough fight and so could not adequately prepare people to withstand a real fight or real assault.... ... good fighters who were also good teachers but they could not sustain their business which caused terrible relationships and stress specific to money, fees, distractions. People who face particular, highly probable danger count on me to teach them how to protect others and themselves. That means I must always improve to counter evil and violence as they constantly evolve. To do so, I put my trust in a very select FEW instructors, scattered thousands of miles from me and from each other in different parts of the world. This takes a lot of effort on both the part of those instructors and myself. Fortunately, technology helps. Scott Sullivan is one of those few I completely trust. ...Great fighter, great teacher, accessible, innovative, world wide experience, quality human being, cares about you, ...trust him. ~ Eric A. Metzger - Chief Instructor GMF

I visited the Bam Bam Martial Arts facility a few weeks ago for the very first time and can honestly say from my own personal experience the staff and coaches were extremely nice, very knowledgeable and made you feel welcomed and part of their martial arts family! I had the opportunity to observe Coach HeMan teaching the kids class, which was very impressive and quite entertaining to see these kids in action. Coach HeMan even had a little fan on the sidelines that day his 16-month old son, whom was following along doing all the training “on the sideline” put me to shame that’s for sure and just melted your heart to see this baby following the big kids class absolutely adorable!!!! Also stayed to observe Coach Manny's kickboxing class, which was phenomenal no matter what your skill level is if you pay attention during class, you will learn not just kickboxing but the "proper techniques" and implementation of true kickboxing from a pro! I wouldn’t judge someone by the way they tie a belt, such a mediocre comment! At the end of the day, I think you need to experience the facility, classes and see all the great coaches in action to form your own opinion. Come and experience this Martial Arts Family oriented facility and form your own opinion, then you can really see what this facility is all about and you will not want to leave!!!!

Scott Sullivan and the Instructors at Bam Bam Martial Arts are one of the most ELITE Martial Arts School in the South! They are always very focused and attentive to new students and people interested in learning martial arts for Fitness, Health, Self-Defense and recreation! The facility is clean, professional and engaging! I would sign my whole family up for classes at Bam Bam Martial Arts if we lived a little bit closer!!!

We just moved here, my son has been taking BJJ classes for over 4 years. We were lucky to find a gym that has amazing coaches with a great balanced environment of fun and competitiveness while teaching the kids to be leaders. Everyone here has been so nice and friendly. Thank you for being our second home 🙂 beyond happy with our gym choice!

Awesome place! I attended a self-defense class and I absolutely loved it. Not only did I learn techniques on how to defend my self in this huge, crazy city but I had lots of fun doing it! Bam Bam Martial Arts is the place to be!
23:40 20 Nov 17
This gym is a rare find! The kid’s classes focus on training the whole child, not just the body (discipline, exercise, and self-defense) but the mind too (character development and rewarding behavior that makes them better people)! Plus there are also kid’s classes for those more advanced students to practice and participate in competition styled BJJ! The adult’s classes are for anybody! Beginner to advanced students are welcome to just about any class! The advanced students are so kind and helpful to all newcomers, and the coaches are always willing to take time out to teach the fundamentals, ensuring that each student has the proper techniques! No martial art is without it’s struggles and all progress takes time , but with kind and encouraging coaches like you will find at a Bam Bam Martial Arts Academy you will be in good hands always!

Bam Bam is an excellent instructor and the environment is very professional and friendly. I trained here for about two years and made some great friends and upped my BJJ and striking abilities considerably. Unfortunately, I had to move away, but I would recommend this gym to both the "competitive" student intent on competing in tournaments and someone just wanting to get in better shape and learn self defense.
Bam Bam has provided a great experience for my children. They have learned a lot over the years, plus they have a great time learning very practical skills and getting a ton of exercise. The owners are committed to having a high quality program for their students and it shows!
If you want to have your kids learn respect, integrity, responsibility, and tolerance, look no further. This is the place where my boys have instilled in them these core values of life. My son’ character has developed since then. Thank you for everything you do.We love you
Martial arts is about Respect, Honor, Integrity, and Loyalty. Don't fall for the first day glammer that they give you. If the gym had a legit program they wouldn't try to get you in a contract. A contract that can be raised at anytime and or have programs completely scrapped from the schedule. They are 3 real bjj gyms down Bellaire and one down Stella link. The black belt on the mat is a joke. mount, side mount, and backpack drills and 5 min technique with 30 min of rolling every class. Catch is not one students knows how to get out of said positions. Asked about different guards, not just open and closed. Don't waste your money seriously
Best gym in the area. Just moved here and they treat us like family. Couldn't be happier, thank you to the owners and the amazing instructors :).
Great gym owned & run by salt of the earth people! Amazing classes for kids and adults taught by professional and highly qualified mixed martial artists! Each coach has their own strengths, but they all have something in common, they are humble & kind! Can't recommend this gym enough!!!

Short answer: Is a friendly, clean and excellent place to train.I can say I have practiced martial arts almost all my life (karatedo, judo, kung fu, boxing) but overall taekwondo since I was 10 years old. With that being said I think I have enough rights to talk about if this place is good or not… and deny something that I saw recently.I only had the opportunity to train in Bam Bam Martial Arts for a few months ( I traveled to USA to improve a little bit my speaking english), but I can tell you: every penny spend in that place WORTH IT… in fact I’m in love and obsessed at this moment with jiu jitsu, and the guilty guy of this was He-man: A man with all knowledge, heart, passion and skills you need to learn or improve your jiu jitsu. At begin I was a little afraid to start a new martial art (jiu jitsu) in a foreign language for me because I didn’t know what kind of people I will find there… but it was a nice surprise when I realized both instructors and practitioners were so kind with me.I don’t like to talk bad about people or make a drama, but I can’t help myself when I saw an injustice: Francisco Valdez, the life is already hard for a lot of people in the world and you should know it if you had travel to others countries, so there is no need to have a bad attitude like you had sometimes when you were in Bam Bam Martial Arts as instructor, I mean, sometimes I felt like you want to show the world you "were" the rude Alpha man, and don't get me wrong, I'm not a fragile person at all, I have scars on my knuckles and feet because tournaments fights… I bet you I have had a much harder life than yours in all ways but that doesn’t means that I’m gonna be rude with all people because I had a bad start in my life. As a wise man told me once: try to make the world a better place every day.

I noticed that since my son joined the class...his having self-confidence now and excited to attend every day...mr.bam bam so friendly and the other team...the place so clean...the teachers shows patients to each student and kids having a good time and learning valuable techniques in grappling and drilling...even me...

My son loves it! Each coach has an area they specialize in. They are all awesome.
This is a nice place and they teach the kids alot and they play nice
Bam Bam has an extremely open environment, fun staff and an amazing workout.
Loving it so far. Great workouts and learning a lot.

Dont waste your time or money. As an adult you'll be paying top dollar for bottom of the barrel BJJ/Muay Thai. Find a gym with an actual black belt instructor. Or you could take the kid's class and actually learn something. Justin, the kids instructor, knows what he's doing, but I wouldn't even take the adult BJJ classes for free. Literally .
Great coaches. Great place to learn. I am a noobie brand new white belt. The coaches go out of their way to help me get better each class.
We love Bam Bam. My son is the youngest in the adult class and everyone treats him with respect and gives him tips to be better. He always looks for ways to attend class as often as possible. The instructors are committed to helping the students and very often the last class of the evening goes much later than advertised because everyone is having fun and keeps going.
I have trained at Bam Bam’s for about 2 and a half years now and this is by far one of the best places to train in Houston! There are many reasons why. Here are a few:The Coaches – I just can’t say enough about Angelus. He is the manager/lead instructor of BBMA and does an outstanding job challenging and pushing you farther than you could have ever imagined you could go. Everyone that steps into the gym is struggling with their own fear and/or doubts and Angelus give you the skills, technique, and confidence you need to break through those walls. He focuses on basics as well as more advanced techniques and breaks them down in a way that even someone on their 1st day could understand. Angelus is also always looking for ways to give his students cool opportunities as well. For example, he has brought in top level guest instructors (ie. We had a fighter from the TUF show come by one time) to show us new techniques. He has built great relationships with other gyms around Houston giving us more training partners (etc.) so that we can become more skilled. He has a great tap on all current events and competitions around the Houston area, giving us more opportunities to challenge and better ourselves. Angelus has also done an incredible job creating a “team Bam Bam” atmosphere. You truly feel like you are learning and training with family. He is a GREAT COACH!Rob and Connor are also incredible coaches! They are both very personable and want to push you. They both explain and articulate technique very clearly! I have learned so much from them.Facilities: Always clean and plenty of spare equipment to use if you forget yours at home for some reason. (Except for mouthpieces, and cups… but please don’t be THAT GUY.)Class Schedule: There are plenty to choose from if you have a busy schedule. Just check out their website!Training: No matter what your fitness level is, you will be drenched after every class. I’ve trained for Spartan Races, Tough Mudders for years and this is by far some of the hardest, intense, and most rewarding training I have ever done. But don’t freak… if you are beginner you will not be thrown into the “lion’s den” right off the bat. The coaches want to make sure you get a good grasp on basics before you start sparring etc.. I have some of the best sparring partners at BBMA. We are always there to help each other learn and never to injure each other (Although it happens). No muscle heads here. You will also learn to check your ego at the door. I learn something new every time I train!Anyways, I really hope this review helps you as you decide which MMA gym to try out. There are so many out there these days, but Angelus and the crew at BBMA are world class. I will go here as long as I am in Houston.Cheers and see you there!
All instructors and guest instructors are seasoned fighters themselves so the teachings are pertinent and work. You can mix it up with Muay Thai, BJJ GI & NoGi, wrestling, and MMA. The schedule is very flexible. Both my son and I have been training at BBMA for years. No egos here, just a wide variety of great kids, women and men training hard at various skill levels. Believe me you will get a great workout and will come out better for it. Proud to be a member of the Bam Bam MMA family any day !
Great school, great people, great atmosphere. The Muay Thai and BJJ classes are awesome. Coach Angelus takes the time to make sure all students, regardless of experience and skill level, get the best instruction.
Had my first free class and I loved it! Scott is way cool and my instructor was patient, even when I messed up! I'm glad I joined today! 2016 new year, new me!

BAM BAM is the best. I am so happy to train there.
The trainers are super nice, but also serious experts at what they do, and the personal attention I receive is excellent. The community spirit is my favorite aspect of Bam Bam. I needed a place where I didn't feel judged. Every single person is there to train, improve, and have a fantastic time!
Best place for Martial arts and workout in Houston.
