Q. DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS?
A. Yes, we have beginner classes for both kids and adults. New people come in all the time so beginners are welcome. No experience required.

Q. WILL THERE BE OTHER BEGINNERS IN MY CLASS?
A. Absolutely. We have beginners in every class. Not only that, our advanced students are always ready to help you any way they can.

Q. AT WHAT AGE DO CHILDREN START CLASSES?
A. Due to the nature of our program, we start kids at age 4.

Q. IT SEEMS SCARY AND INTIMIDATING. WILL I GET HURT?
A. We are a beginner-friendly academy with a uniquely welcoming environment. People tell us all the time that they love our pleasant and approachable staff and that they meet new friends on the first day! Moreover, our safety record is top-notch. So there is nothing to be afraid of. When you walk through our doors, you will meet a lot of normal people just like yourself. Our students come from all walks of life – moms, dads, doctors, professionals, grandparents, and kids of many ages.

Q. HOW MANY TIMES PER WEEK CAN I ATTEND?
A. As many times as you’d like! But a minimum of two classes per week is required. Most students come three or more times per week. The more often you come the quicker you will progress. It is entirely up to you.

Q. I REALLY WANT TO LEARN SELF-DEFENSE. WHERE SHOULD I START?
A. Our jiu jitsu program will teach you simple and effective leverage-based techniques designed to help a weaker and smaller person defeat a bigger and stronger attacker. This curriculum is a fantastic “fast track” choice for self-defense and is designed to get you “street ready” in the shortest amount of time possible. So just start by scheduling a trial class!

Q. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY FIRST CLASS?
A. For your first class, we recommend any loose and comfortable workout clothing.

Q. HOW LONG ARE CLASSES?
A. Our classes are 45 minutes long.

Q. HOW MUCH DO CLASSES COST?
A. Prices vary depending on the program. Your first two classes are free to try out and see if you like it here. If so, we can go over your goals and talk in more detail about pricing after your trial class.

Q. DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?
A. Yes we do! We have sibling and family discounts available.

Q. HOW IS BAM BAM MARTIAL ARTS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS?
A. Bam Bam Martial Arts differs in many ways. First, our elite kids program is unmatched in the area with its unique curriculum that focuses on self-defense, character development, and fun. As for adults, we have an open and welcoming atmosphere with classes for EVERYONE. It doesn’t matter who you are or what kind of shape you are currently in, we offer training for all fitness levels, ages, and goals. Q. HOW IS BAM BAM’S KICKBOXING DIFFERENT FROM CARDIO KICKBOXING AT A GYM?
A. Many kickboxing teachers at local gyms have little to no real martial arts experience and are really just aerobic teachers. Bam Bam Kickboxing instructors are highly trained professionals who teach authentic and effective Muay Thai Kickboxing techniques that will really work if you ever need them.

Q. CAN’T I JUST DO ‘CARDIO’ INSTEAD OF KICKBOXING OR MARTIAL ARTS?
A. Sure you can but if you don’t include resistance training in your workout you won’t get the fit muscular look most people are looking for. Cardio is great but you also need to develop lean muscle mass and the only way to do that is through resistance training. What’s great about our martial arts classes is that they provide BOTH – cardio and resistance training all in one workout!

Q. I HAVE AN INJURY. CAN I STILL TRAIN?
A. As long as your doctor says you can train you are welcome. We work around injuries all the time so we are happy to accommodate any special needs you might have.

Q. HOW IS THE WORKOUT AT BAM BAM’S DIFFERENT FROM GOING TO A GYM?
A. The key to getting results with your workout is consistency. Many people find that the typical gym workout is boring and so they quit going after just a short period of time. With Bam Bam Martial Arts classes, however, you’ll get an awesome whole body while learning important self-defense skills at the same time. Our interesting and engaging classes make it easy to keep coming again and again.

Q. IS YOUR KICKBOXING CLASS ONE OF THOSE ‘CARDIO KICKBOXING’ CLASSES?
A. Not if you mean one of those ‘punch in the air/dance type classes. Our kickboxing program is a great cardio workout but it consists of real hardcore kickboxing moves on bags, pads, and other training pads. So you’ll be learning real “fighting” moves while you are getting a great workout.

Q. SHOULDN’T I JUST GET IN SHAPE BEFORE I COME?
A. Not at all. Actually, the opposite is true. We help you get in shape. So don’t let that hold you back!

Q. WHAT TYPE OF CLASSES DO YOU OFFER?
A. We offer beginning level classes for all people ages 4 and up as well as more advanced training in kickboxing, jiu jitsu, and self-defense.

Q. WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE I START CLASSES?
A. You don’t need to know anything. Just come in wearing some workout clothing and we will take care of you from day one and give you a safe fun and awesome workout as well as teach you a skill that could save your life!

Q. IS SPARRING OR CONTACT REQUIRED?
A. No, sparring and contact are never required. We at times offer separate classes for those students who like to spar, but it is not required in our beginner classes.

Q. DO I HAVE TO COMPETE?
A. Absolutely not. The large majority of our students have no desire to compete at all. They train for fitness, fun, and self-defense. For students who do want to compete, we can get them on that track.
