Q.DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS?
A. Yes, we have beginner classes for both kids and adults. New people come in all the time so beginners are welcome. No experience required.
Q. WILL THERE BE OTHER BEGINNERS IN MY CLASS?
A. Absolutely. We have beginners in every class. Not only that, our advanced students are always ready to help you anyway they can.
Q. IT SEEMS SCARY AND INTIMIDATING. WILL I GET HURT?
A. We are a beginner friendly academy with a uniquely welcoming environment. People tell us all the time that they love our pleasant and approachable staff and that they meet new friends on the first day! Moreover, our safety record is top notch. So there is nothing to be afraid of. When you walk through our doors, you will meet a lot of normal people just like yourself. Our students come from of all walks of life – moms, dads, doctors, professionals, grandparents and kids of many ages.
Q. WILL YOU HELP ME GET STARTED ON A PROPER EATING PLAN?
A. Absolutely! Nutrition is critical if you want to lose weight and get lean. We’ll give you a free easy to follow nutrition plan that has proven to be super effective for everyone who does it.
Q.HOW MANY TIMES PER WEEK SHOULD I ATTEND?
A. We recommend a minimum of two classes per week. Some students like to come three or more times per week. The more often you come the quicker you will progress. It is entirely up to you.
Q. I REALLY WANT TO LEARN SELF-DEFENSE. WHERE SHOULD I START?
A. You should definitely start with our beginning jiu jitsu class. Our jiu jitsu program will teach you simple and effective leverage based techniques designed to help a weaker and smaller person defeat a bigger and stronger attacker. This curriculum is fantastic “fast track” choice for self-defense and is designed to get you “street ready” in the shortest amount of time possible.

A. We offer classes all throughout the week at different times during the day and evening. Please see our schedule page for more details.
Q.AT WHAT AGE DO CHILDREN START CLASSES?
A. We start kids at age 4.
Q.WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY FIRST CLASS?
A. For your first class, we recommend any loose and comfortable workout clothing.
Q.HOW LONG ARE CLASSES?
A. Our adult classes are one hour long. Standard kids classes are 45 minutes and our 4 year old kids class is 30 minutes long.
Q.HOW MUCH DO CLASSES COST?
A. Prices vary depending on the program but all are affordable. Your first class is free to try it out and see if you like it. If so, we can go over your goals and talk about scheduling and pricing.
Q.DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?
A. Yes we offer a 20% discount for a 2nd family member and a 40% discount for any additional family member after that.

Q.HOW IS BAM BAM’S KICKBOXING DIFFERENT FROM CARDIO KICKBOXING AT A GYM?
A. Many kickboxing teachers at local gyms have little to no real martial arts experience and are really just aerobic teachers. Bam Bam Kickboxing instructors are highly trained professionals who teach authentic and effective Muay Thai Kickboxing techniques that will really work if you ever need them.
Q. CAN’T I JUST DO ‘CARDIO’ INSTEAD OF KICKBOXING OR MARTIAL ARTS?
A. Sure you can but if you don’t include resistance training in your workout you won’t get the fit muscular look most people are looking for. Cardio is great but you also need to develop lean muscle mass and the only way to do that is through resistance training. What’s great about our martial arts classes is that they provide BOTH – cardio and resistance training all in one workout!
Q. I HAVE AN INJURY. CAN I STILL TRAIN?
A. As long as your doctor says you can train you are welcome. We work around injuries all the time so we are happy to accommodate any special needs you might have.
Q.HOW MANY CALORIES CAN I BURN IN AN HOUR?
A. Estimates show you can burn up to 1000 calories in one hour and you’ll be having so much fun doing it that the class will just fly by!
Q. HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK SHOULD I TRAIN AT YOUR ACADEMY?
A. We have classes 6 days a week and you can come as often as you like. A lot of it depends on your personal schedule. They more you come the more quickly you will see results. Most of our members train 2-3 days per week.
Q.HOW IS THE WORKOUT AT BAM BAM’S DIFFERENT FROM GOING TO A GYM?
A. The key to getting results with your workout is consistency. Many people find that the typical gym workout is boring and so they quit going after just a short period of time. With Bam Bam Martial Arts classes however, you’ll get an awesome whole body while learning important self-defense skills at the same time. Our interesting and engaging classes make it easy to be keep coming again and again.
Q. IS YOUR KICKBOXING CLASS ONE OF THOSE ‘CARDIO KICKBOXING’ CLASS?
A. Not if you mean one of those ‘punch in the air/dance type classes. Our kickboxing program is a great cardio workout but it consists of real hardcore kickboxing moves on bags, pads, and other training pads. So you’ll be learning real “fighting” moves while you are getting a great workout.
Q. SHOULDN’T I JUST GET IN SHAPE BEFORE I COME?
A. Not at all. Actually the opposite is true. We help you get in shape in the first place.
Q.HOW DO I GET READY FOR MY FIRST CLASS?
A. All you need to do is show up wearing some comfortable workout clothes, meet our friendly instructors and you’ll be ready to go!
Q.WHAT TYPE OF CLASSES DO YOU OFFER?
A. We offer beginning level classes for all people ages 4 and up as well as more advanced training in kickboxing, jiu jitsu, and self-defense.
Q.WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE I START CLASSES?
A. You don’t need to know anything. Just come in wearing some workout clothing and we will take care of you from day one and give you a safe fun and awesome workout as well as teach you a skill that could save your life!
Q.IS SPARRING OR CONTACT REQUIRED?
A. No, sparring and contact are never required. We do offer separate classes for those students who like to spar but it is not required in our beginner classes.
Q. DO I HAVE TO COMPETE?
A. Absolutely not. The large majority of our students have no desire to compete at all. They train for fitness, fun and self-defense. For students who do want to compete, we offer a separate competition team class.
